Dear Colleague,

This week, we published the findings of our post-lockdown automotive retail survey. We surveyed franchised dealers to understand how they returned to business after the lockdown. We will continue to get feedback from our members to monitor trends and obtain insights which will prove valuable in our liaison work with Government and manufacturers. Please find more details below.

Following the latest guidance on face coverings, from 24 July customers visiting a dealership in England, as well as Scotland, should wear a mask unless an exemption applies. The Government says it is not compulsory for staff to wear face coverings, although employers should consider recommending their use ‘where appropriate and where other mitigations are not in place’. Please find the guidance below.

The FCA has confirmed the support measures that had previously been announced for motor finance customers. These include a second three-month payment freeze that customers have until 31 October to apply for. Please find more information in the news.
