Dear Colleague,

New passenger car sales saw a 28.0% increase in June and there is optimism about trading over the coming months, although supply constraints continue to affect the market. Despite supply challenges, also registrations of light commercials grew by 14.4% in June. Please find more details in the news.

This week, the PM announced from 19 July social distancing is set to end, facemasks will no longer be mandatory and limits on social gatherings will finish (subject to a review on Monday). These changes are unlikely to have major effects on how dealers operate, but we will continue to monitor further announcements and keep you updated.

As most covid restrictions are due to be lifted over the coming weeks, we will be able to welcome more dealers at our Strategic EV Forum taking place on 22 July in Warwick. Join us to receive practical recommendations on how to improve your EV sales and aftersales process, optimise your EV infrastructure and improve your customers’ journey. The event is free for our members, please find further information in the news, and register here to attend.

We have now published the latest pricing analysis produced in conjunction with Auto Trader which showed used car prices continue to grow as a result of robust consumer demand combined with ongoing supply issues. You can access and download the report here.

NFDA is your trade association and we are the voice of automotive retailers: if you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our member helpline at 01788 538303.
