NFDA’s Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) accreditation scheme and employment initiative Drive My Career will be exhibiting at the British Motor Show taking place next week in Farnborough from 19 to 22 August.
This British Motor Show returns in a new format celebrating all things motoring, past, present and future. NFDA’s EVA and Drive My Career will be there to discuss EVs and working in automotive.
Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) is the accreditation scheme developed by the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) and endorsed by the Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and Energy Saving Trust.
The EVA ‘badge of approval’ is awarded to retailers who are rigorously and independently audited and found to meet EVA’s standards.
It is the only scheme which certifies the efforts retailers are making in the EV sector to meet the ever-changing consumer demand.
At the show, the EVA team will answer questions about EVs, give impartial advice on switching to an Electric Vehicle and explain why EVA accredited retailers represent the excellence in the sector and are able to give their customers confidence in their purchase.
The team will explain that by visiting an EVA accredited dealer, customers can be assured that you will receive a welcoming atmosphere built around the EV culture, exceptional levels of product knowledge, EV trained and accredited technicians, on site chargers, EV courtesy cars and more!
Drive My Career
The Drive My Career will be at the Motor Show to demonstrate why young people should consider a career in the automotive industry.
They will stress that while to many, working in the automotive industry means either fixing or selling cars (and although the industry offers fantastic opportunities for people with these skillsets), there are a lot of other career avenues the automotive sector offers.
As the automotive industry continues to grow and evolve and electric vehicles become more common, businesses are constantly looking for new skills and ideas. DMC will engage with young people to prove that whether they are interested in starting a technician role, customer service, or marketing – there is a career path for them. The team will help young people familiarise with these options, show the opportunities available and connect potential candidates with their nearest automotive retailer.
The team will share the guidance they have available and will answer any questions you may have about working in automotive, helping job seekers find the business area that best suits their skills and interests, and identifying the retailers looking for candidates in specific area. They will also be adding some fun, with games, competitions and prizes every day! Following the success of their first competition, the Original Nintendo Mario Kart videogame race will be back - Be the fastest and win a prize!
