Dear Colleague,

This week, the Chancellor gave his Budget speech announcing a number of measures that are relevant to dealers. In particular, the business rates holiday and the furlough scheme have been extended, the fuel duty will remain frozen for another year, whilst the corporation tax will increase to 25% from April 2023. Please find more details in the news.

New passenger car registration figures for February showed that the market declined by -35.5% as the closure of showrooms due to the lockdown continued to impact sales. Positively, sales of light commercial vehicles grew by 22% as demand for vans used to deliver goods bought online supported the market. Please find further information in the news.
