This week the latest NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey – Summer 2023 edition was launched. We are extremely pleased that the DAS remains an integral barometer for franchised dealers, and that the sector pays close attention to its outcome; highlighted by yet another record response rate of 2,531 responses from 32 franchised networks, equating to 68% of the UK network. It is also extremely positive to see that our partnership with Metryx was well received by the industry. The Dealer Attitude Survey is now accessible in three formats, including a storyboard report, all with the potential to grow and improve with every edition. Over the past two weeks, NFDA attended both major political party conferences in Manchester and Liverpool. This year’s conferences held imposing significance, with a general election likely to take place in 2024. Both conferences provided a unique platform to engage with key decision-makers and the opportunity to advocate for important issues directly impacting franchised dealers across the UK. NFDA hosted a dinner with Labour parliamentarians who briefly introduced us to the leader of the party, Keir Starmer MP. Discussions took place around how dealers and the government can work together to adapt to the current challenging trading environment. There appeared to be a growing sense of expectation from the labour party, with the Tory party providing a slightly more restrained background – though the hotel central areas were packed!
Finally, we are delighted to announce that we have our first selection of Chinese manufacturers for Driving Digital: Special Edition! This special event will be the perfect opportunity to network with new entry manufacturers seeking to retail in the UK market. Please join us on 6 December 2023 and meet with representatives from BYD, MG and NIO UK, and have the opportunity to see their product first hand. We are in constant dialogue with manufacturers to attend the event and we will be announcing more over the coming week… watch this space!
