Following the resignation of Robert Halfon and James Heappey as Skills Minister and Armed Forces Minister respectively, the Government has confirmed the following Ministerial appointments:

  • Kevin Hollinrake as Minister of State in the Department for Business and Trade
  • Nus Ghani as Minister of State (Minister for Europe) in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
  • Luke Hall as Minister of State in the Department for Education
  • Alan Mak as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Business and Trade and the Cabinet Office.


In addition, the Chair of the Conservative Party Richard Holden confirmed that

  • Jonathan Gullis
  • Angela Richardson would be made Deputy Chairman in the Conservative party.


Finally, yesterday evening the Labour party confirmed that the following would join the party’s frontbench team:

  • Sarah Edwards as PPS to the shadow DEFRA team
  • Damien Egan as PPS to the shadow Education team
  • Gen Kitchen as PPS to the shadow Home Office team
  • Kim Leadbeater as PPS to the shadow Health team
  • Keir Mather as a Whip.
