The NFDA Spring Ball returned to the Grove in Hertfordshire on Saturday 27 April 2024 to celebrate industry excellence. Bringing together dealers, manufacturers, and senior automotive stakeholders, the event offered an evening of fine dining, entertainment, and networking opportunities.

The event was hosted by the charismatic TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith. Additionally, the NFDA welcomed Sean Fitzpatrick, former World Cup-winning professional rugby player and All Blacks Captain, as the guest speaker for the evening.

Mark Durden-Smith and NFDA Chairman David Newman took the stage to host the Awards ceremony.

Manufacturer Partner of the Year

Winner: Kia UK Limited

Kia UK Limited emerged victorious, recognised for strong relationship with their dealer network and their outstanding performance in the NFDA Summer 2023 edition of the Dealer Attitude Survey. Chris Lear, Aftersales Director of KIA Motors UK, accepted the award.

Industry Partner of the Year Award

Winner: METRYX

METRYX was honoured for their outstanding support to the NFDA and its franchised dealer members. Mike Khan, CEO of METRYX, accepted the award. NFDA extended a thank you to METRYX for their continuous support with the two past editions of the Dealer Attitude Survey, providing an improved user experience for the report and increased analysis content.

Industry Personality of the Year Award sponsored by Indeed

Winner: Terence Donnelly OBE, Group Executive Chairman of Donnelly Group

Terence Donnelly OBE was honoured with the Industry Personality of the Year Award, sponsored by Indeed. Terence has been an active NFDA member in Northern Ireland and has been pivotal in establishing NFDA NI, significantly contributing to its growth and influence with the Northern Ireland government and decision-makers.

Green Dealer Award (Under 10 sites)

Winner: Soper of Lincoln

Soper of Lincoln received the Green Dealer Award for their dedication to environmental sustainability and strong support of the EVA scheme. By approving all their dealerships and completing re-accreditation, they have demonstrated their commitment to eco-friendly practices. Bryan Sleaford, Head of Business at Soper of Lincoln, accepted the award.

Green Dealer Award (Over 10 sites) sponsored by Vehicle Ancestry

Winner: Vertu Motors

Andy Goss, Chairman of the Board at Vertu Motors, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Vertu Motors was honoured for their dedication to environmental sustainability and their efforts in embracing the transition to zero emissions. They have demonstrated their commitment by being avid supporters of the EVA programme, accrediting and re-accrediting each of their sites to being 100% approved. Additionally, they have recently placed orders for their EVA marketing toolkit to promote their accreditation to consumers, showcasing their dedication to being at the forefront of electric retail.

The Green Manufacturer of the Year Award

Winner: BYD UK

BYD UK was honoured with the Green Manufacturer of the Year Award for their significant efforts in collaborating with their dealer network and supporting retailers in meeting the demand for alternative fuel vehicles. Simon Bisp, BYD Head of Sales, was invited to the stage to accept the Award.

The NFDA Chairman’s Award

Winner: Peter Vosper, Chairman of Vospers Motors Ltd

NFDA Chairman’s Award, selected by David Newman, acknowledges individuals in the automotive industry who have gone above and beyond to support the NFDA throughout the year.

Peter Vosper, Chairman of Vospers Motors Ltd, is this year's recipient of the NFDA Chairman’s Award, recognised for his exceptional leadership, dedication, and unwavering support for NFDA initiatives.

At the Ball, almost £3,000 was raised for the automotive industry charity, BEN through charitable donations.
