The new passenger car registration figures published this week showed a small decline by -2.9% in October with 153,599 units as the introduction of WLTP continues to distort the market. Sales of alternative fuel vehicles continued to grow significantly with an increase of 30.7%. The light commercial vehicle market grew by 14.1% in October and the market is now down by a marginal -1.6%. Please email louise.woods@rmif.co.uk to receive a copy of the figures.

On Thursday, a well-attended and engaging AM Live saw NFDA announce the pilot phase of the Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) scheme. EVA is a set of standards for retail and aftersales, open to all retailers to give them the opportunity to show their excellence in EV retail. Figures released this week by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) showed that the latest generation diesel cars emit low pollutant emissions. According to ACEA, the majority of these vehicles already levels of NOx which are lower than the threshold that will be mandatory from January 2020. More details in today’s news.
