As dealerships rapidly electrify their forecourts, NFDA has heard that there are mixed messages coming from chargepoint installers about whether dealerships can claim the Workplace Charging Grant.
The Workplace Charging Grant will cover up to 75% of the purchase and installation costs, up to a maximum of £500 per socket.
The advice from the Government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) is clear, dealerships do have access to the scheme provided that the chargepoint is installed for:
- Customer cars being serviced
- Fleet cars used for demo purposes (later sold to customers)
- Loan cars
- Dealership employees
