Dear Colleague,

Following recent articles concerning comments attributed to the Government’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) in connection with online sales and deliveries, we have spoken to a senior official in BEIS for clarification. BEIS has confirmed that no official statement has been released by BEIS on this and their position has not changed from earlier guidance. Please find more details in the news.

Earlier this week, we also wrote to BEIS to set out the sector’s thoughts and priorities on how to enable the retail motor industry to resume trading while complying with all necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus. We will keep you updated on this.

We continue to issue a daily bulletin on COVID-19 to support members. This includes guidance documents, industry updates as well as template letters to use with customers and employees. If you are an NFDA member and currently not receiving the bulletin, please email nfda@rmif.co.uk.

The FCA has announced important measures for businesses and consumers. The submission deadlines for a number of regulatory returns has been extended and the measures for consumer support during the lockdown have been confirmed. Please find more details below.

NFDA is your trade association: if you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our member helpline at 01788 538303 or email nfda@rmif.co.uk.
