Marshall CEO Daksh Gupta celebrated as an inclusion role model – AM Online

Marshall Motor Group chief executive Daksh Gupta has been celebrated as an inclusion role model with his listing in the inaugural Role Models for Inclusion in Retail Index 2022.

The AM Awards 2021 Business Leader of the Year said that he was truly honoured to feature in the list, produced by Diversity in Retail in partnership with The MBS Group, which aims to celebrate people who have been identified as inspirational role models who champion inclusion within their organisation and beyond.

Gupta said: “I am truly honoured to be featured in the Role Models for Inclusion in Retail Index 2022 as a role model for inclusion.

Waylands Automotive sees profits rise 115% to £2.7m – Motor Trader

Waylands Automotive turned in a strong performance in 2021 with pre-tax profits up 115.1% to £2.7m on turnover ahead 39.9% to £124.6m. On a like for like basis profits rose 78.1% to £2.2m

The group now represents Volvo, Kia and MG brands from dealerships in Reading, Newbury, Swindon, Oxford and Bristol.

In February last year the group completed the acquisition of Kia Reading. In August it opened a new build facility for Volvo in Bristol and a third brand partner with MG in Oxford, taking the number of representation points to seven.

Group 1 Automotive reveals record profits from ‘outstanding’ Q1 2022 – AM Online

Revenues rose 30.1% during the period to the end of March to reach an all-time high of $3.8 billion (£3.03bn) as net income from continuing operations hit a record $201.1m (£160.3m) – a 99.3% increase year-on-year.

News of the impressive start to 2022 comes three months after the US-based AM100 car retail group’s annual financial results for 2021 showed a 27.2% increase in revenues as gross profit rose 40.7%.

Commenting on the Q1 2022 result, Group 1 president and chief executive Earl J. Hesterberg said: “Our record profit performance this quarter was the result of continued strong consumer demand and outstanding operational performance across all business segments in the US and UK.”

Lookers celebrates the return of its annual Excellence Awards – Motor Trader

This is the first Lookers awards ceremony to take place since 2019.

The Manchester-headquartered automotive group presented a record 21 category awards, marking individual contributions in a range of business areas including sales, management, customer service, business support, finance and innovation.

Hosted by motorsport journalist and broadcaster Amanda Stretton, every region was represented and winners were chosen based on customer satisfaction ratings, performance levels and their overall contribution to the group of more than 6,500 staff.

Sytner Staff win CitNOW Digital Spotlight Awards – Motor Trader

Sytner Group has announced that three colleagues have claimed the top spot for two CitNOW Digital Spotlight Awards.

These awards were for the efforts that colleagues have put in in 2021 and showcases the best in video in the automotive industry.

Jessica Richardson, New Car Sales Executive at Nottingham BMW, won the ‘best vehicle showcase video’ for her video of the BMW X3 where she talks through some of the features and details of the vehicle in a clear, concise and friendly manner.
