This month’s highlights include:
- New car registrations grew +10% in March, but private sales fell year-on-year.
- March was a record month for visits to Auto Trader, which grew 8% year-on-year and exceeded 89 million.
- Market health remains positive (+5%) as demand (+6%) continues to outpace supply (+1%).
- Cars sold faster than in any other March on record, at 25 days.
- Prices continued to decline on an annual basis (-9%), but in a positive sign month-on-month adjustments were in line with what we saw pre-pandemic, down -0.7%.
- Supply remains constrained in the 1-5-year-old age buckets.
