Following a meeting earlier this year with Emma McClarkin MEP, the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) arranged a site visit for her at one of their largest dealer members, Honda Grantham, part of Vertu Motors PLC which took place today, (20 November 2015).

The NFDA is currently demanding that the European Commission honour a commitment made last year to address the unfair commercial practices in relationships between vehicle manufacturers and dealers.

Back in March, they engaged with Emma who is a Member of the European Parliament for the European Conservatives and Reformists Group (ECR), in the East Midlands Constituency, Conservative Party.

Sue Robinson, NFDA Director commented, “Since the removal of the block exemption regulations, the NFDA has been pressuring the EU institutions to address issues in dealer-manufacturer relations.

“McClarkin MEP was keen for us to organise a visit in order to discuss the wider issues affecting our industry.”

Vertu who are currently the largest Honda dealer group in the UK, gave Emma an insight into their business and the operations set in place to run a successful dealership.
