“Following our continued lobbying, the NFDA is pleased to see that the DVLA has today launched two new online services” said Sue Robinson, Director of the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) which represents franchised car and commercial vehicle retailers across the UK.

The first service allows motor dealers to inform DVLA that they've bought or taken a vehicle in part exchange, and the second service lets motor dealers take a cherished number off a vehicle and transfer it to another.

Robinson continued “The NFDA has campaigned for this facility long and hard, and so this brings positive news for dealers who have struggled with cherished numbers since the abolition of local vehicle registration offices.”
